Updated comparison after BAYON launch
The three SUVs now have published India prices. Hyundai launched the BAYON at ₹9,99,900 ex-showroom. Nissan’s official Tekton launch price list starts at ₹10,49,000 and extends to ₹18,59,000 across its listed variants. Honda’s Elevate page lists a starting price of ₹11,80,000. These are entry prices; they do not make all versions direct equivalents, and the final on-road total varies by city and equipment.
The BAYON uses a 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine rated at 115 PS and 143.8 Nm, with six-speed manual or selected-trim iVT. Nissan lists two engine families for Tekton, with a six-speed manual and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic depending on engine and variant. Honda lists a 1.5-litre, 1,498 cc petrol engine, with manual or CVT transmission. Verify each manufacturer’s current specification and city price before comparing a specific version.
A buyer choosing among them should first set a real budget, including insurance, registration and any finance cost. Then compare the engine/gearbox combination, the exact trim, warranty and the equipment that matters on daily routes. The BAYON’s entry price is lower than the two starting prices cited above, but a higher BAYON trim could move into a different price band. Nissan’s and Honda’s versions also differ substantially by transmission and feature package.
Compare dimensions and luggage using each company’s current method, test rear-seat access with the people who will use it and drive each gearbox. Do not assume the BAYON’s claimed 505-litre boot is directly comparable with another manufacturer’s volume unless the measurement method is the same. Likewise, ADAS equipment and crash-test scores must be checked for the exact tested or purchased variant, not inferred from a model name.
The useful conclusion is not that one model wins for every buyer: the BAYON’s confirmed entry price and powertrain make it a new option, while Tekton and Elevate offer their own engine and equipment mixes. Request dated itemized quotes and test drive the same versions you plan to buy. For confirmed BAYON trim availability, see our variant guide.
