Portimão, Portugal | 17 October 2026. Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed won the three-hour GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup finale with Ralf Aron, Maximilian Götz and Fabian Schiller. The #17 Mercedes completed 94 laps, with two Porsches joining it on the podium.
Provisional podium and selected finishers
The official classification, version 1.0, printed on 17 October at 20:08 lists the following results. It is marked provisional and subject to final scrutineering.
| Overall position | Entry | Gap to winner |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | #17 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed | 3:01:38.316 race time |
| 2 | #80 Lionspeed GP Porsche | 5.062 seconds |
| 3 | #2 Boutsen VDS Porsche | 5.411 seconds |
| 4 | #71 Selected Car Racing Ferrari | 7.692 seconds |
| 5 | #30 Team WRT BMW | 14.406 seconds |
| 9 | #3 Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing | 18.556 seconds |
Verstappen's recovery did not change the winner
The series' race report dated 17 October says Max Verstappen began his stint in 24th after an earlier penalty for the car. He recovered to ninth. That is the shared car's finishing position, not a ninth-place result for a separate solo race: the classification names Ben Barnicoat, Chris Lulham and Verstappen in the #3.
SRO identifies this as GetSpeed's first overall Endurance Cup victory. Götz last won outright in the series at the final round of 2013; Aron and Schiller are first-time overall winners.
Overall positions and class wins tell different stories
Selected Car Racing won Gold Cup while finishing fourth overall. Team WRT's #30 took Silver Cup and fifth overall; 2 Seas Motorsport's #222 Mercedes won Bronze Cup from 13th. A class victory should not be confused with an outright win, or automatically with a season title.
Season titles confirmed after the finale
BMW's 18 October 2026 race-weekend release says Team WRT secured the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe overall teams' championship, which combines its Sprint and Endurance results. That season title is separate from GetSpeed's victory in the Portimão race.
BMW also reports that ROWE Racing took the Endurance Cup Gold Cup teams' title, with Jens Klingmann, Tim Tramnitz and Ugo de Wilde winning the corresponding drivers' title. Its #998 BMW finished second in Gold Cup in the finale, while WRT's #30 won the race's Silver Cup class and finished fifth overall. The series' Portimão results page lists GetSpeed as the overall race winner and WRT fifth, helping distinguish the race order from the season awards.
There were 61 starters and 52 classified finishers. Joseph Loake set the fastest lap for Garage 59 at 1:43.817, according to the timing sheet. For another GT3 event with a different format, see our Macau GT World Cup provisional entry guide.
